AI use
Last updated: October 27, 2026.
This page explains how joeybmaps uses AI, what stays in your control, and what is sent to AI providers. It is part of the joeybmaps Terms of Service.
1. Where joeybmaps uses AI
- Atlas. The AI assistant in joeybmaps. In Start here, Atlas suggests tiles from your answers and builds a first map. In a tile's Guide, Do it with Atlas reads the tile and proposes changes for you to approve.
- Agents. Agents work in your world on your priorities. The four world agents are the priority monitor, the action tracker, the weekly review and the decision tracker. Some plans add agents that work your inbox, and later your pipeline and calls. Your plan decides which agents run. The Free plan has none.
- Guide chat. Every tile has a Guide, marked with a compass. Its chat with Atlas helps you fill the tile in.
- Suggestions and briefings. Today's AI briefing and its ranked list of people to contact, message triage, contact insights, automatic categorization, and other suggestions.
- Photo and document tools. Scanning, describing and tagging photos, finding duplicates, inspecting rooms, and reading receipts and documents.
- Voice. Voice notes and recorded calls are turned into text by AI.
- Web search. Atlas can search the web; the search words go to DuckDuckGo.
- Builds. Joey and his team use AI agents to build tiles and systems for clients.
2. Approve-first
- Agents and Atlas draft and propose. Nothing goes out without your yes.
- Drafts wait in Approvals until you approve, change or decline them.
- Changes Atlas proposes to a tile wait for your approval too.
- No setting lets an agent send a message to other people on its own. Every AI-written message is a draft until a person approves it, and only the world's owner can approve.
- Some approved messages wait a short delay before they go out, and you can undo them during it.
- The owner can set rules that approve low-risk actions inside the world automatically. Medium- and high-risk actions always wait for a yes.
3. AI can be wrong
- AI output can be wrong or out of date, and it can leave things out.
- Check facts, numbers, dates and names before you approve a draft or act on a suggestion.
- AI output is not therapy or professional advice of any kind. Section 7 of the Terms of Service explains this.
- You decide what to approve and what to do.
4. What is sent to AI providers
- When you ask Atlas something, use Guide chat, or an agent runs, joeybmaps sends an AI provider your request and the parts of your world the task uses. That can include the tile you are in, notes, people records, messages, call transcripts and Memory.
- Our AI providers are OpenAI and Anthropic. Some requests reach them through Replit's AI service, which passes them on.
- If you connect Claude, Anthropic's app, to joeybmaps, Claude can read your Memory entries, except the ones you keep out of AI, and add to them.
- The provider uses what we send to generate a response, which comes back into joeybmaps. Providers may keep it for a set period under their own terms, for example to check for abuse, and then delete it.
- Memory, inside your world, shows what the AI knows about you. You can see and edit it.
5. Training only with your opt-in
- We do not use your content to train AI models unless you opt in, and you can turn that off at any time. Data from Google accounts you connect, including Gmail, is never used to train AI models.
- We do look at how AI features are used, such as how many credits each tile and agent uses, to run billing and improve joeybmaps. We may also use de-identified, aggregated data that no longer identifies you or anyone else.
- Our AI providers' business terms do not allow them to train on what we send.
6. AI credits
AI use is measured in AI credits. Every plan includes credits each month, and they reset monthly.
| Plan | AI credits a month |
|---|---|
| Free | 400 |
| Personal Basic | 4,000 |
| Personal Pro | 8,000 |
| Personal Deluxe | 40,000 |
| Business Essentials | 40,000 |
| Business Pro | 200,000 |
| Business Operating System | 400,000 |
- Different tasks use different amounts of credits, depending on how much AI work they take.
- You can see where your credits went, by tile and by agent, at any time.
- At 80% you get a heads-up. At 100%, with no pack credits left, AI features pause until you top up or upgrade. The rest of joeybmaps keeps working.
- Credit packs: 1,000 credits for $10, 2,500 for $25, 5,000 for $50 and 10,000 for $100. Pack credits are used after your monthly credits and roll over while your plan is active.
- AI used for a build is billed on the build invoice.
- Full terms are in Billing, cancellation and refunds (/billing-terms).
7. Turning AI features off
- Guide chat and Do it with Atlas run only when you use them.
- Agents. The world's owner can pause all agents, pause sends, and set cost caps and quiet hours in Approvals, under Your agents.
- Assistant, suggestions and photo tools. Settings, under AI, has switches for the AI Assistant, AI draft suggestions, and the photo and document tools. They are on until you turn them off.
- Today briefing. The Today briefing has its own switch in Settings, under AI.
- Memory. You can keep any Memory entry out of AI.
- Claude connector. The owner can turn it off in Agent Manager, under Connections.
- Calling. Calling and voicemail stay off until the owner turns them on.
- Connected accounts. Disconnect an account in Settings, under Connect, to stop AI from reading new email, calendar events, calls or messages from it.
- If AI is off or paused, the rest of joeybmaps keeps working: your map, tiles, tasks and records.
